Smily: practical pre-clinical case studies

The days when dental students gained experience on simple models are well and truly over. Thanks to Smily, today dentists of the future develop their expertise on units that can realistically simulate the challenges awaiting them in the oral environment. The Smily concept is 100% European: Saratoga has no hesitation in seeking out components which are truly top of the range. So, the micromotor is from Bien-Air (Switzerland), the “phantom head” from Frasaco (Germany) and the suction is provided by Cattani (Italy). The bust on which the phantom head is mounted exactly replicates the movements of a dental chair. Its seven arm movements make possible the surgical operation of this innovative and leading-edge design, while the lamp (24000-36000 lux brightness) is also extremely mobile. Smily‘s ingenuity lies partly in its very compact quadrant design, capable of many different arrangements, and secondly in its dual functionality: it can be set up within seconds either fully equipped or as a complete unit for the treatment of an “artificial patient”. Saratoga’s Smily simulators are used by the dental faculties of Brussels (Belgium), Toulouse, Nantes, Lyon (France), Rome, Turin, Verona (Italy), Valencia (Spain) and also in Liechtenstein and Malta. Outside of Europe, they can be found in Miami, Memphis, Moscow, St Petersburg, and Stavropol, in Korea, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

Saratoga present S_tylé a new concept dedicated to customised decontamination with its modular range.

S_tylé sets new standards for decontamination cabinetry. The range consists of various modules with specific functions and colours that enable the clinician to design and customise the instrument reprocessing area to meet both regulatory requirements and functional ergonomics. The choice of modules depends upon which decontamination equipment is used and their specific arrangement for ease of access within the practice. Colours can be incorporated to match the design and express the personality of the individual practice, thereby enhancing overall aesthetics. S_tylé facilitates scalability, flexibility and modernity. Indeed its extensive range of modules allows you to make changes or additions to your original choice so as to continuously keep abreast of changing requirements in dental decontamination. Saratoga has for over thirty years paid great attention to the specific requirements of this area. This is why the choice of materials in the development of its products is determined, not only by the strength and reliability of the metal but also the durability and colour range of the paint, to produce the kind of aesthetic impact everyone wants.

S_elect: a clever combination of carts for Ergonomics, Hygiene and Organization.

Ergonomics, Posture and control of infection risk have now become essential in regulating the provision of health care in the dental office. When the medical team prepares for intervention on the patient, all the material and necessary equipment must be placed close to the operating area to avoid unnecessary, harmful or even dangerous movements. Similarly, at the end of the operation, the contaminated material should be immersed in a decontamination bath as close as possible to the place of use to then be moved to the sterilization room safely. To meet these needs, several S_elect carts, made of materials designed to meet the rules of asepsis (stainless steel, steel painted with Bonderite technology) and easily manipulated, allow you to keep various medical equipment, to prepare the equipment for invasive treatments or even to collect it in tanks of liquid decontaminant, significantly facilitating the preparation and clean-up of the operating rooms between one patient and another. For over thirty years, Saratoga, a company specializing in the production of furniture for the dental industry, has conceived of and designed its products to improve the dental environment in terms of asepsis and ergonomics.

Saratoga PF Line:

Creativity and Professionalism produced through the cooperation of Pininfarina and Saratoga The Saratoga PF line represents an integrated system, designed to satisfy the effective working needs of professional dentists, more and more looking towards futuristic technology. The project was developed by the Saratoga team with the cooperation of the designer Paolo Pininfarina, President of the Pininfarina Group and CEO of Pininfarina Extra. An exclusive line for dentistry was developed through this cooperation resulting in an innovative design, with soft and welcoming lines, designed to offer an experience of pure comfort and aesthetic pleasure without forgetting functionality, efficiency and hygiene, all essential for dental practice. The PF line is equipped with two patented systems: the first is an apparatus with mobile arms, allowing the dentist to have all the necessary equipment to hand, optimising security, efficiency and hygiene. The particular shape of the instrument tray with its slightly raised edge, to prevent instruments from falling, demonstrates the level reached by the ergonomic research for dental practice. The second is a special infra-red tap that integrates the water, soap and disinfectant supply. Furthermore, by touching a sensor, the operator can easily open in the most hygienic way the cover that protects the tray. All that is needed is a simple hand movement. Each feature of the PF line is designed to ensure maximum hygiene, not only with the materials used, but the chosen shapes also follow this objective. This is why the handles of the drawers have been designed in a superior shape, eliminating holes that can be difficult to clean. Furthermore the modular PFL was designed with an independent washbasin to optimise space in the work room while obtaining an alternative hygiene system. The PF line is available in two solutions. The PF One is a modular proposal composed of a bench in the back and a washbasin column with steel base. The PF Two is a unique bench with two integrated washbasins. In both cases the materials are of the highest quality. The Pininfarina design and the thirty years of experience of Saratoga are the guarantee of quality and sturdiness in the materials used. Available in metallic paint in blue dream, silver, green or pearl white, including Ral colours. A project featuring innovative systems and forms capable of satisfying the needs of professional dental practitioners who require futuristic and technological solutions.
